Bold 1940s Tailored Black Wool Princess Coat with Soutache Trim
This coat is magical. It is everything a vintage coat should be. Simple, but oh so rich and lovely. The absolute ideal in early 1940s outerwear - it will go with just about everything. The wool is gorgeously soft, one of the nicest wools we've felt, and densely black. The fit is tailored, smartly nipped in at the waist and flared from the hip, with very strong shoulder pads to give it an edge. Deep pleats give the shoulders futher emphasis. Intricate soutache, tightly sewn edges the collar, pockets, the front yoke and placket. The jet black rayon satin lining is cool and decadent. The coat has a double breasted closure with interior button as well.
We tried twice to capture this coat on film, but lighting was a struggle for some reasons and the photos still do not come close to illustrating how good this coat is. We've included all the redundant photos so you can try to get the best idea of how detailed it is.
