Wicked 1930s NRA Label Evening Gown Dolman Sleeves and Huge Collar
This gloriously Morticia black 1930s gown is elegant and severe, a wicked creation in jet black rayon crepe. This evening is a stunning Old Hollywood style, a NRA labeled piece dating 1933 to 1935. Photos do not do justice to the dolman cut of the sleeves, but I think the design and sophistication of the piece is clear. The collar is unique, having a brown material underneath black net - the result is a sort of smoky appearance. This is edged in gelatin sequins. It is finished with a bow. The bust is gathered above the fitted midwaist. The skirt is columnar and graceful, with two vents at front hem. The elegance and allure in this dress, the sophisticated sex appeal, will make this a piece you go back to over and over.
Label: NRA (National Recovery Act) tag is present.
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Very Good minus
This beautiful gown has been freshly dry cleaned and is ready to be worn. There is some subtle reddish discoloration at the underarms - this is faint. Some of the sequins are discolored/twisted the “wrong” direction. I find no other issues to note, it is ready to be worn and loved!
