  • Product Description

This a stunning jacket made in Kyoto for the western market, one of the many beautiful pieces that came out of Japan after WWII. This piece, like others from Shiga & Co., is made of weighted obi silk, with a metallic brocade. The colors are lustrous and autumnal - gold, tangerine, pale coral, orange, grey and hard accents of black. It features bold, heavy shoulder pads and wide sleeves. It closes with two ivory frog closures, and is lined with rayon brocade.

      Condition: Good

This jacket is has not been dry cleaned, as my cleaner hasn't proven trustworthy with detailed brocade pieces. The lighter areas of the silk are, I think, tanned mildly with age. There's a 3" narrow stain on the low center back. There's two spots on the left sleeve. The back of the neck has a frayed area. This is priced with condition in mind.
