Glorious 1920s Dress in Cobalt Blue Silk Charmeuse with Drop Waist and Pleated Skirt
This chic late 1920s evening dress is made of the silk charmeuse, used with both the satin side and crepe side used, lending textural contrast. This striking frock is the richest of blues, a true cobalt hue which looks as decadent as the dress feels. The deep v yoke has the crepe on the exterior and is joined with faggotting to the bodice, which features the gleaming satin side. There's tidy darts at each shoulder and at the center back of the neck. A trim of nude illusion lace was added at the neckline. The waist is dropped, and trimmed with crepe. The skirt is permanently pleated, and has a swishy fit. It's an elegant piece that you can't help but love, and now is the decade to wear it! This slips over the head and has no closures.

This stunning dress is sold and ready to wear, with no dry rot, odors or weakness. There is REALLY mild fade to the underarms, I almost missed it. There is a one area at the top back of the left shoulder that has a small shred - it's not weak, but in a 1/4 area, there's only one direction of thread. However, that thread is sturdy. The previous owner added some awkward darts to the curve of the right arm, but not the left, and since they used a zig-zag stitch, I can't take it out without damaging the dress. There's some zig-zag stitching making a repair along the edge of the faggotting, seen only from the interior (although there's a small accidental "tuck" at the right back) and then the sleeve seams have been restitched in white as well.
The dress wears as Very Good - it's strong and displays beautifully. I find no other issues to note!
