An exquisite Edwardian cotton separate, originally part of an ensemble. Pair this exquisite lace top with  This striking piece dates between the late 1900s and very early 1910s - my best guess is c. 1911. Originally worn over a cotton under dress, this will be beautiful today over a satin slip or perhaps a pale cotton color. Cutwork of cotton batiste is given dimension with weighty knotwork. Crocheted lace is inserted at the center front and the sleeves and the upper is lined with mesh. The construction of this piece is stunning. Short at front and long at back, this piece will be amazing work as part of a wedding ensemble, or to make a statement with modern attire.

This is freshly hand laundered and pressed, and although there remain a couple lightly yellowed areas, it presents beautifully. A few of the hooks up the back have rusted, but they have only marked the cloth immediately next to them and this is mostly hidden when it is closed. I thought I'd seen a break in the lace when cleaninging it, but I cannot locate that now for the life of me. This is stunning.
