  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s suit is striking and unique. It is a wool whipcord, a textile we see most often in western pieces, and this has elements of western design. The jacket is long, crisply tailored, with defined, flat-felled princess seaming. The collar is wide and sharply notched. The hips have faux pocket flaps. What makes the suit really unusual, though, is the SKIRT. The waistband is high, with a fishtail notch at front and dropped loops. It is adjustable in length - it can be worn with a classic length, or with the button-on extension. The buttons are decorative as well as functional. The skirt closes with a sturdy metal zipper.

These pieces are clean and ready to wear. The jacket is very good, with just two tiny spots on the inside edge of the left cuff. There is a bar of yellowing across the back of the lining. On the skirt, the extension has some scattered staining, and various old repairs to moth chews. The hem on the shorter skirt appears to have been redone in the past. I find no other issues to note!
