Vintage late 1930s dress is charming and romantic. If you feel like you recognize it, you may - my consignor originally purchased this beauty from Morphew. Made of a soft and breezy silk crepe de chine, it has that softly matte lustre that only silk offers. The sleeves are cleverly puffed with darts and padding at the shoulder, shirring under the arm and a chevron of pleats at the outside. More clever work creates drape at the neckline and through the midsection of the bodice. The skirt is four gores, cut on the bias. This dress closes with side snaps.
Condition: Good, very wearable and structurally sound, as is
This dress is freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. It is imperfect, but reasonable sturdy and entirely wearable. As you can see in the photos, the dress has fade. It's notable at the shoulders and outside of each sleeve, but is present to a lesser degree on the bodice and sides of the skirt. There is one little 1/2" repair at the base of the snap closure. I find no other issues of any sort. It is strong and ready to wear out! I have priced this dress with the fade n in mind.
