Vintage 1950s novelty suit set, in a rayon crepe that is wonderfully springy. A pert print of fruits and flowers decks a warm grey ground. Pink and blue, pears, plums and cherries join white bells and daisies. The jacket is smart, a peplum style with a truly mashing asymmetric collar of taupe faille. It closes with three rhinestone centered buttons. The skirt is a classic cut, four gores that are a little swingy. The pieces wear well together, but will also be fantastic separately. The original belt is present.

This set has been dry cleaned* and is ready to wear. The skirt has a replaced segment of waistband - I suspect the matching material came from the sleeves. The sleeves appear to have been shorted at the elbow. The bodice has some light spots - which I'm managed to clear partially away with a brush - that weren't there before being dry cleaned. I suspect that a second cleaning would disappear them, but as this is consignment, I'm only have it cleaned the one time.
