Jaunty 1940s Junior's Style Shoot in Aqua Blue with Brown Top-Stitching
How smart is this 1940s junior's suit? There's something so smart and special about Junior's styles of the time. This is sassy and pert, made in a tabby wool of pale aqua blue, a sort of daquiri ice shade that will be amazing with spring colors. The shoulder are firmly padded, and there's four darts at each side. The jacket is casual, only partially lined, with faille petal lining that extends from the back of the neck to the underarms. The jacket was embellished in the era with a careful top stitch of brown thread - a careful touch put in place by the original owner. The knot shaped buttons are probably replacements, based on the thread color used. The skirt is a four gore style with tiny vents on each side.
Label: Jaunty Junior, in Duplex Sunnybrook Rayon Fabric.
Material: Rayon Blend
Condition: Good plus, as is
This suit is clean and ready to be worn. The skirt is finished with a hand stitch that is probably not original. The jacket has subtle fade at the shoulders, and slightly more distinct fade down the back of the of the left sleeve. There are two TEENY rust spots at the center back of the neck where I removed a very old pin. It wears beautifully, and is super sturdy. I find no other issues to note!
