Vintage late 1930s evening gown is a dramatic offering by New York Creation. This striking rayon gown was a personal pet project, and it's finally ready to sell. The gown features surplice neckline and padded shoulders. Golden metallic embroidery embellishes the cuffs, the bodice and the wide, dropped midwaist. The skirt is pleated at the center front for a generous drape and is bias cut at the back.

This gown is clean and ready to wear. I have washed the dress a half dozen times and dry cleaned it twice. There remains the shadow of underarm staining, and I admit I had to work very hard to clean out body odor. It is EXCEPTIONALLY fresh now - not the faintest sign even when subjected to a hot steamer. The embroidery has suffered a little, as some of the metallic frayed away and exposed the cotton core, which is pink from dye transfer. This is somewhat nit picky, as it still looks fabulous on. I have interfaced a small thin spot under the right sleeve, and darned a small hole on the back right of the hem. It is significantly marked down from the $450 I had originally intended for it.
