Fantastic Late 1930s Rare Rayon Jersey and Terry Lastex Bathing Suit with Butterfly and Floral Print
A gorgeous, uncommon late 1930s or early 1940s swimsuit in a marriage of vibrant rayon jersy and soft terry lastex. The front is a brilliant price of blue, green and yellow butterflies, along with summer flowers on an ivory ground. The sides and back are a soft ocean blue. The straps hook through loops to adjust the fit at back. This is typical 30s style closure for Jantzen, but as there's no diving girl, I think it is a copy of the treatment.
Hips: 29" - 35.5" *you really have to wriggle in them. These were easy on a slippery form, harder on a human.
Label: Vintage size 12 label is present.
Material: Rayon Jersey, Terry Lastex
Condition: Very Good minus
This suit is clean, sturdy and ready to wear! It has been worn and washed, and I assume that the ground of the jersey was once a bright white, which has yellowed a bit with time. There are two faint yellow spots on the white background as well, but you have to look to find them. The blue lastex may also be faded from a brighter blue, I can't be sure. I have darned at tiny hole at the back left buttock. I find no other issues to note!
