This dress is sold as-is, please see flaw photos before purchasing.
Vintage late 1930s dress is a charmer, in a unique weave of rayon that has the lightness of bemberg and the texture of a pique. There is decadent swaths of shirring at the neckline and waist. The sleeves are puffed, and the pockets are charming, ruffled affairs at the front of the hips. The skirt is a gored style that is sleek but swishy. The dress closes on the side with a sturdy cloth covered metal zipper.
Label: None Present
Condition: Fair, sturdy enough wearable but permanently flawed, as is.
This dress has not been cleaned, due to its flaws. It needs to be cleaned - there is yellowing from soil on the lace and at the upper back and neck, and some spots, which will be detailed. However, as a flawed consignment piece with many flaws, this isn't something I was willing to take on. Most notably, the lower half of the skirt in two of the wide gores at back and two of the narrow gores at the front. I imagine it must have caught in a washing machine or some such thing. The damaged areas there have been stitched over in an attempt to mimic the print - definitely look at the photos. There is a thin spot at the back right shoulder and a small dark spot at the back left. There is a small mend on the right chest, and a small spot on the left. There is some scattered damage around the right hip/thigh, not as bad as the photographed hem areas, but still present. Strangely, though, the presentation is still good -this would make a decent beater dress if you need something you won't feel guilty wrecking. Due to its condition, this will be in the shop only one month before being returned to the consignor if not sold. Do not buy this dress unless you understand that it has flaws throughout that are notable
